As a Traffic Specialist at American Ordnance, you’ll help keep critical shipments moving safely, accurately, and on time. From coordinating with carriers and internal teams to preparing shipping documents and tracking materials, you’ll play an important role in supporting our mission. As the Traffic Specialist, here's the work you'll do:

• Review shipment worksheets, ammunition data cards, bills of lading, and supporting shipment documentation for accuracy and completeness. Prepare commercial and government shipment documentation and required shipping pouches in accordance with established procedures. 
• Coordinate outbound shipment activity with carrier representatives, Central Stores personnel, and supervision. Arrange carrier pickups, issue shipping instructions, and help resolve material or LTL shipment issues to support timely movement of goods. 
• Process and maintain shipment data in applicable transportation systems, including ETA and DTTS/TGIS when information is not transferred automatically. Ensure system entries are accurate, traceable, and aligned with shipping documentation. 
• Generate, maintain, and track weekly and monthly operational reports, shipment tracking spreadsheets, and seal control logs. Reconcile data, identify discrepancies, and support timely submission of required reports. 
• Apply knowledge of Government-plant methods, policies, regulations, procedures, ammunition nomenclature, and lot history in the performance of traffic and shipping duties. Support compliance with internal requirements and customer shipment expectations. 
• Identify documentation, tracking, or process issues within assigned work and support practical improvements to shipment processes and systems. Coordinate with internal customers to maintain service reliability and meet business needs. 

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Working knowledge of traffic, transportation, shipping documentation, and material movement practices sufficient to support commercial and government shipments.
• Knowledge of applicable shipping procedures, DOT-related requirements, and government-plant documentation controls sufficient to maintain compliance shipment records.
• Ability to review shipment worksheets, ammunition data cards, bills of lading, reports, and logs for accuracy, completeness, traceability, and required follow-up.
• Ability to use ETA, DTTS/TGIS, shipment tracking spreadsheets, seal control logs, and standard business applications to enter, reconcile, and maintain transportation data.
• Ability to coordinate shipment issues with carriers, Central Stores, supervision, and internal customers to support timely and accurate shipment execution.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, prioritize competing shipment documentation needs, and identify process or data discrepancies within assigned traffic activities.

And these qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• 3+ years of related traffic, shipping, transportation, materials, inventory, or logistics documentation experience, including experience preparing or reviewing shipment records, bills of lading, and commercial or government shipping documentation. Required
• Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant.
• A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.
• Successful completion of a background screening process is mandated for all candidates.

  In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $42,560 - $63,840 annually. Please note that this range is not a guarantee of compensation; final offer amounts may vary based on experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
