We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join Mason & Hanger Group Inc., where you will take responsible charge of electrical and telecommunication design projects. This position plays a crucial role in shaping innovative and reliable electrical systems that support critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead the design of lighting, electrical generation and distribution systems, lightning protection, grounding, and conduct comprehensive life cycle and energy analyses. Beyond technical design responsibilities, you will direct and mentor a team of engineers and designers to ensure client deliverables — including construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and design analyses — meet the highest standards.

As a senior professional, you may also provide essential support during construction phases and serve as project manager for electrical projects, ensuring seamless coordination with clients and interdisciplinary teams. Additionally, in a leadership capacity, you will oversee timesheet reviews and conduct performance evaluations when acting as a Group Leader. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant projects within a dynamic and supportive work environment focused on technical excellence and client satisfaction.

As the Sr. Electrical Engineer, here's the work you'll do:

  • Lead and supervise the production of detailed electrical drawings and conduct rigorous engineering calculations to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate proactively with business development teams to identify and secure new projects, cultivating positive and long-lasting relationships with clients.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for junior engineers and technicians, fostering professional growth and maintaining departmental standards.
  • Review and edit comprehensive project specifications to maintain technical quality and clarity.
  • Conduct field visits to perform inspections, gather data, and develop accurate record drawings to support project documentation.
  • Coordinate construction submittals, manage Requests for Information (RFIs), and address contractor inquiries to ensure smooth project execution.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering practices and principles, particularly at an advanced or senior level, including expertise in system reliability and coordination of electrical protections.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of management principles to support project leadership and client servicing effectively.
  • Exceptional skills in client communication and service delivery, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations throughout project lifecycles.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and negotiation, capable of managing diverse stakeholder relationships in a professional manner.
  • Advanced technical aptitude regarding electrical system design, grounding, lightning protection, and energy efficiency analysis, with the ability to apply these concepts innovatively.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts), or a Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program is required, demonstrating a solid academic foundation.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering, showcasing a proven track record in design leadership and project management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliant and safe system designs.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies, supporting effective planning, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex projects from conception through construction support.
