As the Piping Engineer 4, here is the work you'll do:

  • Collaborate closely with the discipline lead to deliver high-quality piping design outputs, including developing detailed piping specifications aligned with ANSI standards and industry best practices.
  • Design pressure piping systems that integrate seamlessly with process and equipment modifications for both new installations and upgrades, ensuring functionality and safety compliance.
  • Conduct rigorous piping stress analyses, perform precise calculations, and carry out safety evaluations to guarantee integrity and reliability under operational conditions.
  • Lead conceptual engineering studies involving cost estimation, project planning, layout development, and design calculations to optimize piping configurations and support systems.
  • Supervise and review vendor equipment packages to ensure nozzle load compatibility, anchor placements, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers by reviewing their calculations, sketches, and layouts to maintain accuracy and consistency with project requirements.
  • Contribute actively to cross-functional teams to address constructability issues, provide technical recommendations, and support project milestones.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of piping engineering principles complemented by familiarity with nationally and internationally recognized codes and standards, including ASME, API, and ANSI.
  • Proficiency in learning and adapting to new engineering software tools rapidly, enhancing productivity and technical output quality.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work, demonstrating the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills, ensuring effective knowledge sharing and coordination within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with analytical skills to review complex engineering data and provide dependable solutions.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in piping engineering, evidencing progressive responsibility and technical expertise.
  • At least 8 years of practical experience utilizing 3D CAD and BIM software, such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, and Navisworks, to develop piping layouts, designs, model coordination, and clash detection consistent with project requirements
  • Preferred experience of 5+ years using pipe stress analysis software, favorably Caesar II or an equivalent platform, to support engineering decision-making and safety assessments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with advanced skills in Excel to manage data analysis and reporting tasks effectively.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $114,960.00 - $172,440.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
