We're looking for an experienced Physician Assistant.

 

The Physician Assistant provides occupational health, medical evaluation, treatment, referral, and clinic oversight support for employees at Hawthorne Army Depot. This position applies occupational medicine standards, DoD physical fitness requirements, and clinical protocols while coordinating with medical providers, hospitals, and site management to support safe and appropriate employee duty determinations.

 

This position is located on site in Hawthorne, NV.

 

As the Physician Assistant, here’s the work you’ll do:

 

  • Perform occupational and clinical examinations, including pre-placement, annual, fitness-for-duty, return-to-work, post-incident, and other required medical evaluations. Assess employee health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and applying applicable occupational health and DoD physical fitness standards.
  • Initiate, review, and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, medical surveillance, and occupational health data within the Physician Assistant scope of practice. Document patient care, findings, restrictions, referrals, and clinical decisions in employee and clinic records in accordance with applicable protocols and confidentiality requirements.
  • Evaluate, treat, and refer employees with work-related injuries, illness, post-accident concerns, or emergent conditions. Communicate with hospitals, local physicians, supervising physicians, and site management as appropriate to minimize conflicts in medical management, employee duty responsibilities, restrictions, and return-to-work decisions.
  • Oversee clinic operations within the supervising physician’s scope of practice, including clinical workflow, medical surveillance programs, quality control, risk management, records, supplies, and employee health services. Provide direction to clinic support personnel and maintain alignment with Company, OSHA, DoD, DOT, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Advise management, employees, and safety/health personnel on occupational health findings, medical surveillance trends, physical fitness standards, work restrictions, and employee health risks. Maintain professional relationships with medical providers, government representatives, and internal stakeholders while protecting medical confidentiality.
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, registrations, protocols, and documentation. Perform duties safely, uphold ethical standards, and report actual or potential environmental, health, or safety concerns through appropriate channels.

 

This role is for you if you have these skills:

 

  • Clinical assessment and occupational medicine capability sufficient to perform examinations, evaluate injuries or illness, and determine appropriate treatment, referral, or work restrictions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DoD, DOT, state, federal, and occupational health requirements, including physical fitness and duty-readiness standards applicable to assigned employees.
  • Medical documentation and confidentiality capability sufficient to maintain accurate clinical records, protect health information, and support regulatory, Company, and medical protocols.
  • Provider coordination capability sufficient to communicate with hospitals, local physicians, supervising physicians, and site management regarding medical management and employee duty responsibilities.
  • Clinic operations and supervision capability sufficient to oversee clinic workflow, supplies, quality control, medical surveillance, and assigned clinical support personnel.
  • Communication and judgment capability sufficient to provide clear medical guidance, manage sensitive situations, and make appropriate decisions within the Physician Assistant scope of practice.

 

 

And if you have these qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Graduation from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program and completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination required.
  • 5+ years of Physician Assistant experience required; occupational medicine or industrial clinic experience is strongly relevant to the role.
  • NCCPA certification required. Certified and listed with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners required. Delegation of Services agreement with supervising physician, Advanced Life Support certification, Basic CPR certification, and all certifications required by the Company’s Master Training Plan are required..
  • Nevada Physician Assistant license, DEA registration, and applicable pharmacy-related authorization required where legally required for assigned duties. Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to obtain and maintain required government security clearance, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives clearance, and favorable NCIC III vetting.
  • Must perform work duties safely, maintain medical confidentiality, remain alert to potential work and safety hazards, and have no prior malpractice infractions that would prevent performance of assigned duties

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $116,880- $175,320. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
