As a key member of the DZOps - Engineering department, you will engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams to maintain and advance engineering documentation integrity and support strategic business goals. The role demands a proactive and adaptable approach to handling technical challenges and delivering high-quality outputs to meet project deadlines and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Engineering Support: Develop detailed technical drawings, comprehensive bill of materials (BOMs), and 3D models to assist manufacturing engineers in the production process. Collaborate actively on design modifications and improvements, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability. Allocate approximately 30% of your efforts to this critical area.
- Bid and Proposal Assistance: Prepare precise engineering cost estimates, assemble BOMs, and contribute to the creation and review of technical proposals supporting business development initiatives. Your work will contribute significantly to competitive and profitable bidding processes, occupying 30% of your responsibilities.
- Product Development Collaboration: Participate actively in product development by generating necessary drawings, models, and BOMs. Provide drafting support and design assistance to engineering teams focused on innovation and product enhancement, dedicating 30% of time to these tasks.
- Documentation and Database Management: Administer the electronic drawing database to ensure up-to-date, organized, and accessible engineering documentation. Maintain and update record drawings and engineering orders meticulously. This activity accounts for about 10% of the workload.
- Additional Duties: Facilitate technical data reviews, assist in technical writing as required, and support process flow creation to enhance operational efficiencies. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to quality and safety standards within the manufacturing environment.
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor: Utilize these tools extensively to produce accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and detailed bill of materials critical for engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Technical Data Interpretation: Ability to comprehend and analyze complex technical data packages, drawings, and specifications to support engineering and manufacturing teams effectively.
- Cost Estimating Skills: Develop and prepare precise cost estimates for materials and manufacturing processes that feed into bid proposals and production planning.
- Technical Writing Ability: Compose clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documents, reports, and process flow descriptions that support engineering initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Munitions Manufacturing: Understand the specific standards, processes, and safety considerations associated with munitions production, enabling informed drafting and documentation support.
- Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Maintain meticulous records and manage electronic databases to ensure information accuracy and accessibility.
- Collaborative and Communication Skills: Work effectively with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify technical details, and deliver high-quality outputs within set deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree (AA) Technical school (2 years) Required or Certified AutoCAD Required or Applicable Experience Required
- 5+ years Applicable Experience, Preferred
- Design/manufacturing/munitions experience, Preferred

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $61,200 - $91,800. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
