We're looking for an experienced Buyer.
The Buyer procures materials, supplies, equipment, and services that support Hawthorne Army Depot operations. The role manages sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiations, purchase order and subcontract administration, and supplier performance while supporting compliant, cost-effective, and timely procurement outcomes.
This position is located on site in Hawthorne, NV.
As the Buyer, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Procures materials, supplies, equipment, and services required to support depot operations through competitive sourcing, negotiations, and supplier selection activities. Evaluates supplier capabilities, pricing, quality, and performance to obtain best value while managing procurement risks and ensuring continuity of operations.
- Administers purchase orders, subcontracts, and service agreements throughout the procurement lifecycle. Ensures contractual terms, required clauses, certifications, and supporting documentation comply with applicable regulations, customer requirements, and company policies.
- Reviews procurement actions for compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), contract requirements, and internal procedures. Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates contractual, financial, supplier, and performance risks associated with procurement activities.
- Monitors purchase orders and subcontracts to ensure timely delivery, receipt, modification, closeout, and supplier performance evaluation. Conducts cost and price analyses and documents procurement decisions to support purchasing actions and audit requirements.
- Supports administration of the Small Business Program by identifying qualified suppliers and monitoring subcontracting activity. Assists with reporting requirements and supplier outreach initiatives that support customer and company objectives.
- Maintains compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned and may be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty.

And if you have these qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree (AA) in Procurement/Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered..
- 3+ years Total experience in procurement or purchasing, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, purchase order or subcontract administration, and cost/price analysis. Working experience with FAR and government-contract procurement requirements is required.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $61,680- $92,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
