Job Summary

The Vice President, Capture is responsible for leading the full capture lifecycle for a defined portfolio of federal opportunities. This role reports to the President of GS and is accountable for developing and executing strategies that drive successful outcomes on high-priority pursuits within their scope. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on positioning the company to win business by effectively shaping opportunities, building pursuit teams, and managing capture activities from early qualification through proposal handoff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the capture process for assigned federal opportunities, including shaping, teaming, solutioning, and win strategy development. 25%
  • Drive capture efforts in collaboration with Business Development, Technical, Pricing, Contracts, and Operations leads. Develop and maintain capture plans, including schedules, competitive assessments, customer engagement plans, and key milestones. 25%
  • Conduct internal reviews (e.g, gate reviews, pricing reviews) and prepare briefings for executive leadership. Identify and engage teaming partners, subcontractors, and SMEs to enhance solution strength and competitiveness 20%
  • Support pre-RFP engagement strategies, working closely with BD and Operations to gather intelligence and successfully position the company with customers. Ensure capture efforts align with corporate processes, policies, and compliance requirements. 20%
  • Transition successful captures to Operations, ensuring clear knowledge transfer and continuity. 10%

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Proven ability to win mid- to large-scale federal contracts with TCV of at least $100M and direct experience winning IDIQs valued over $1B.
  • Solid understanding of federal acquisition processes and competitive procurement environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Experience with capture planning tools, opportunity tracking platforms (e.g., GovWin, SAM.gov), and CRM systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in federal contracting Required
  • 5+ years inclusive of 5+ leading capture efforts Required

 

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $180,560 - $270,840This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
