Position Description
Day & Zimmermann Canada is seeking a Scheduler II to fill a temporary maternity leave.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for establishing detailed schedules and resource requirements for moderate to complex projects. The Scheduler II coordinates with project managers on the development and implementation of project schedules; tracks and monitors project schedules through completion. The successful incumbent analyzes plans and schedules to identify potential delays and integration problems; identifies impacts toward project delays and cost impacts, and implements appropriate changes to plans and schedules.
Responsibilities
• Exercises independent judgement to develop and maintain multiple moderate to complex project schedules, status and schedule analysis with P6 software.
• Develops project work breakdown structure for projects to meet scheduling and cost tracking requirements, integrating input by the Project Manager.
• Provides critical path analysis and creates 'what if' scenarios; evaluates impact of changes to critical path of projects and escalates issues to Project Management as needed
• Leads project schedule status meetings, providing valued project data and analysis
• Oversight and analysis of project productivity, trends, forecasts and their impact on the schedule, project budget and cost. Develops and analyzes project metrics; generates accurate, timely reports and schedules for management
• Updates the project manager of schedule status, identifies potential problems; develops and implements a resolution; escalating prolonged issues to appropriate senior manager
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Project Management or related study, or comparable additional experience in lieu of Degree
• 3-5 years of applicable experience utilizing Primavera 6
• Solid understanding of complex planning/scheduling concepts and P6 scheduling software
• Good comprehension of nuclear power plant systems, components and interrelated activities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
• Good understanding of internal and external stakeholders to ensure complete work package inputs and definition.
• Solid working knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
