Position Description

Position Summary

Under broad supervision, the Project Manager position is responsible for securing and managing resources for high-value and complex, commercial projects from proposal development and award through contract closeout. Responsibilities typically include planning, scheduling and control of project activities to achieve project objectives. The Project Manager effectively manages relationships with project execution staff, unionized personnel, internal and key client stakeholders. Mentors and trains project personnel and direct reports (if required) to develop more effective and efficient team through leadership and guidance.

 

Responsibilities

•    Manages multiple projects up to, or exceeding an aggregate of $30 million gross unit revenue. Manages project planning and implementation for multiple high risk and highly complex multiple projects from tendering to award to project execution and closeout. Coordinates the delivery of services required to accomplish project requirements in accordance with client and D&Z procedures.
•    Develops and maintains professional working relationships with clients for the coordination/delivery of services, specifically engineering and design deliverables, schedule, cost, change management, quality and value.
•    Utilizes advanced, approved project management methods and processes to execute high risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
•    Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
•    Oversees project work flow and workforce resource planning; supports, mentors and trains project personnel to develop more a effective and efficient team through leadership and guidance. Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project. Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives. As needed, responsible for employee management of direct reports, including time entry approval, vacation approval, PMR issuance, discipline, etc. Responsible for the validation of third party support service credentials.
•    Participates in the business development process, specifically contributing to proposal preparation (budget, schedule, execution strategy, etc), input to project management capabilities and review of technical information pertinent to the project. Participates in presentations to prospective clients, follow-up discussions and scope/pricing negotiations. Develops and implement PM procedures to create efficiencies

 

Job Qualifications

•    Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering.
•    4-8+ years in support of executing capital projects including engineering, procurement and construction experience. 2-4+ years of experience in a construction environment and/or Nuclear sector is preferred
•    PMP Certificate Required, or alternate equivalent
•    Thorough knowledge of project management plan development, implementation and administration.
•    Thorough understanding of estimating, scheduling, cost control, communications, management of people.
•    Excellent working knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); P6 and SAP.
•    Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis.
•    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff & management
