Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties. Adheres to budgets and meets product delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management and direction of the production operators in a production area or building. This may require coverage in multiple areas or buildings as needed, and coordination with other Production Supervisors and Lead Operators to insure production operations are properly covered. 
  • Will direct production processes such as inert material preparing, screening and blending, pelleting, melting, loading, explosive preparing assembly, packing, shipping, repairing and machining. 
  • Advises their assigned superior and consults with Process Engineering and other interested departments in planning and developing production policies, procedures and time estimated to produce manufactured items. 
  • Assures that their subordinates receive adequate safety training and that pertinent regulations are observed. Assures that he/she and subordinates are trained in hazardous waste handling and that pertinent regulations are observed. 
  • Establishes effective employee morale and maintains discipline, coordinating with higher authority when appropriate. Promotes and maintains a high level of housekeeping in their assigned area. 
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of assigned production processes, equipment and materials. May coordinate with Human Resources personnel on bargaining contract language and implementation.

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $61,680 - $92,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

Minimum Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) Preferred or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in business, management, or a technical field Preferred
  • 5+ years related experience Required
