Position Description

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Sr. Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Texarkana, TX. There is flexibility for this to be remote with periodic onsite visits for critical budgeting and planning meetings. The Senior Financial Analyst is addressing financial analysis and planning functions dynamic munitions/industrial manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in driving business performance by delivering actionable insights and outcome-focused analysis to support strategic decision-making. The position holder will possess deep expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with a strong emphasis on leveraging data to provide clear, impactful recommendations. Experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably within munitions, and proficiency in SAP or another comprehensive ERP system is essential. The position holder should be adept at managing complex financial models, understanding cost structures, and presenting information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders to guide and influence outcomes.

As the Sr. Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling through active participation, communication and collaboration with executive and plant operations management, supply chain and legal.  Provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and slide presentations, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management and stakeholders. Provide actionable insights based on financial data. 
  • Analyze and evaluate overhead costs, ensuring accurate allocation and application within the manufacturing process. Identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Drive process, reporting, and analytics improvements. Learn and leverage ERP and business intelligence tools in place to enhance automation of reporting and analysis, specifically usage of SAP Finance, PowerBI and SAP MRP.
  • Ensure adherence to governmental disclosure statement requirements, modify disclosure statement cost allocation and reporting as needed utilizing an understanding and application of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) requirements.
  • Participate in and/or lead team-wide ad-hoc analyses, reporting and financial modeling projects.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Strong Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Planning and Analysis along with a strong operational understanding of business decision making. 
  • Ability to clearly and consistently get information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing via multiple methods (i.e., presentations to groups both large and small).  Demonstrates the ability to influence decisions and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SAP or another comprehensive ERP system for data extraction, financial reporting, and analysis.  Knowledge MRP concepts and their application in manufacturing operations, with specific knowledge of SAP MRP a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (including advanced functions, financial modeling, and data analysis) and PowerPoint (for creating high-quality presentations).  PowerBI experience is highly desired.
  • Possesses and demonstrates familiarity with GAAP, CAS, FAR, DFAR, and applicable government regulations. 

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis within a manufacturing environment, preferably in munitions or industrial manufacturing.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.  Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.  Experience in a munitions or industrial manufacturing environment desired.  Experience in dealing with financial and regulatory audits and reporting requirements. Great attitude and team player. 
  • Successful completion of background screening process.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $84,480.00 - $126,720.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
