Key Responsibilities:

As a Scientist, Chemist, you will take on a pivotal role in our organization, where you will perform laboratory testing for quality assurance, environmental compliance, and safety protocols in support of our facility operations. You'll utilize a diverse array of testing instrumentation, demonstrating your expertise and contributing to our commitment to excellence and innovation. This position demands meticulous attention to detail to ensure the integrity of data, supporting the overall mission of DAY & ZIMMERMANN LONESTAR.

As the Scientist, Chemist here's the work you'll do:

  • You will analyze various samples, employing your chemistry expertise to derive meaningful insights from the data.
  • Your role will also involve the development of innovative methods and procedures, requiring collaboration with colleagues and that you reference current technical publications.
  • You will be responsible for processing and reporting test data, ensuring clear communication of results to stakeholders.
  • Regular maintenance of laboratory equipment will be part of your duties, ensuring optimal performance and operational efficiency.
  • A crucial aspect of your role is to stay updated on the latest developments in testing techniques, maintaining necessary certifications, and pursuing continued education and training opportunities for professional growth. Your willingness to assist colleagues at different company locations will contribute to our collaborative work environment.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • A solid theoretical foundation in analytical chemistry techniques and their practical applications is essential for success in this role.
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex technical documents and governmental regulations will be critical.
  • You should possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams within the organization.
  • Demonstrated capacity to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is vital, accompanied by strong numerical and analytical abilities to tackle complex challenges head-on.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $76,640 - $114,960. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

And if you have these qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field is required.
  • Prior experience in laboratory analysis, whether through professional roles or university coursework, will be advantageous.
  • A valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license is necessary.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite is expected, particularly with Excel and Word.
  • Candidates may also require a secret security clearance, depending on specific project assignments.
