Job Summary

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Program Manager 2 to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Texarkana, Texas.

 

In this role, you will lead, plan, direct, and coordinate customer and matrix team activities for designated programs and projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This includes proposal process, negotiation, project management and customer management for projects less than $100,000,000. 

As the Program Manager 2, here's the work you'll do:

• Leads the development and execution of strategies for defense products, ensures effective coordination across various business units, and manages cost, schedule, risk, opportunity, and technical execution.

• Interacts with customers to understand their requests and requirements, grow customer relationships, build company integrity, and continuously improve customer satisfaction.

• Responsible for building a multi-functional team and delivering results while determining internal and external funding to support development priorities and objectives.

• Responsible for cost, schedule, and technical execution for program execution, coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, and specifications.

• Monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifying program problems and obtaining solutions.

• Coordinates resource-loaded schedules and implement Earned Value Measurement System techniques on major programs.

• Leads the preparation of proposals, business plans, and specifications.

• Perform additional duties assigned. 

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Strong oral and written communication skills to include presentations; Ability to represent the company in a professional manner to win customer confidence; Ability to understand and communicate technical issues

• Formal project management process and tools (project justification and approval, ROI/IRR, charter, SOW, risk assessment, WBS, schedule, budget, variance reporting & corrective action, team meetings, closeout) to lead and manage programs and projects; Lead projects to design, procure, install complex equipment for manufacturing or facility operations.

• Ability to problem solve using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Organized in approach to work. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Delegates work assignments; Matches the responsibility to the person; Gives authority to work independently; Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities; Provides recognition for results.

• Proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs is needed

• Preparation of proposals, cost estimates; contract negotiation; Proactive and responds promptly to customer needs both internal and external. Maintains confidentiality. Experienced negotiator. Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions. Has excellent phone skills. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. 

And if you have these qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher - required

• Minimum five years of progressively complex experience is required with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project or Program Manager or equivalent - required

• Valid driver's license - required

• Government Secret Clearance may be required 

• Experience in US Government contracting is desirable

• Great attitude and team player

• Successful completion of background screening process

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $86,000 to $108,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
