In this role, you’ll take the lead on everything from waste management and water systems to forestry and facility maintenance — all while ensuring we meet key environmental regulations. You'll manage big projects, solve real-world problems, and make a difference every day.

As the Environmental Manger here's the work you'll do:

As the Environmental Manager, here’s the impactful work you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the planning and management of the caretaker contract with the Army, including the administration of the Public Water System while ensuring safe practices for handling both hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
  • Pioneer compliance efforts by meticulously reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as evaluating Facility Assessment and Audit Team (FAAT) reports.
  • Administer an extensive budget exceeding $3 million dedicated to the caretaker contract, ensuring regular inspections in accordance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations and facilitating accurate invoicing and timely regulatory reporting.
  • Devise and coordinate waste management strategies plant-wide, focusing on the collection, secure storage, and appropriate final disposition of hazardous waste while maintaining all relevant environmental permits.
  • Directly manage the Public Water System (PWS), ensuring compliance through rigorous water sampling protocols and overseeing necessary annual maintenance checks.
  • Supervise ongoing forestry initiatives, optimize the care and maintenance of plant life, and guarantee adherence to essential environmental regulations.
  • Facilitate mowing operations across facilities, ensuring actions comply with regulations from the ATF, EPA, and DoD.

  • A strong proficiency in various computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, facilitating effective data analysis, reporting, and communication.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Texas state and Federal environmental laws, regulations, as well as all relevant facility permits necessary for compliance.
  • Hands-on experience operating Hazardous Waste Treatment and Storage Facilities, equipping you with the practical skills needed for effective management and oversight.
  • Experience with Industrial Waste Water Treatment Facilities, which supports your competence in maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
  • A solid understanding of facility layouts and overall day-to-day operations, enabling informed decision-making and efficient operational management.

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in an environmental science or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmentally-focused role, showcasing your capability and expertise.
  • Certification in 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Hazardous Waste Management, along with experience as a Visible Emissions Evaluator and Asbestos Inspector.
  • Certification and understanding of DOD 4145.26M-2008 protocols, Lead Abatement Worker status, and Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification (DOT).
  • Municipal Solid Waste Operator credentials, as well as a valid Class C Water Distribution License.
  • A valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, which must include the gold or black star indicating federal compliance

 

In compliance with state pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $86,160 - $129,240. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
