As the Manager, Environmental here's the work
Position Summary
Plans, organizes and manages Caretaker Contract with Army, Public Water System, Hazardous and non-Hazardous Plant Waste, Forestry management and Mowing of plants. Also ensures compliance in relation to Environmental regulations through review of SOPs and FAAT reports.
Responsible for performing work i/a/w the Company's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct and thus functioning as a role model; and evaluating subordinates based on their commitment to the Code.
- Manage caretaker contract with budget of 3+ million including overseeing the High Explosive Demo Ground sweeps (picking up unexploded ordnance and scrap metal and disposing through detonation), weekly inspections of RCRA permitted areas to maintain compliance with TCEQ and EPA regulations, daily, weekly and monthly required reporting to regulatory agencies, and invoice processing.
- Plans, organizes and manages plant-wide collection, storage and final disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste (including operations at industrial waste water treatment facilities) and pollution abatement. Obtains and maintains the required environmental permits required to operate the facility. Assist and Support Kansas facility with environmental programs.
- Manage Public Water System (PWS) - requires obtaining Class C water distribution license and overseeing nitrification plan. Supervises weekly water sampling, utilizing collection data in required reporting, maintain compliance through annual backflow valve testing and annual water tower inspection.
- Review all SOP changes and FAAT reports to ensure compliance with current regulations and create and maintain departmental budgets.
- Oversee Forestry project, scheduling company to harvest temper, handle scheduling herbicide applications, and manage invoices.
- Oversee Mowing of facilities for DZLS and Army. Ensuring compliance with ATF, EPA and DoD regulations.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- Computer Skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
- Knowledge of the Texas and Federal Environmental Law and Regulations, and Facility Permits.
- Knowledge of the Operations of the Hazardous Waste Treatment and Storage Facilities.
- Knowledge of the Operations of the Industrial Waste Water Treatment Facilities.
- Knowledge of the Facility Layout and day to day Operations.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree.
- Length of experience: 5 yrs in an environmentally-related field.
- Certification: 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Hazardous Waste Management, Visible Emissions Evaluator, Inspector for Asbestos, Understanding & Application of DOD 4145.26M-2008, Lead Abatement Worker, Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification (DOT).
- License/registration: Municipal Solid Waste Operator; Class C Water Distribution License.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $86,160- $129,240. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
