Position Description

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Financial Analyst 2, DZMG to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Texarkana, TX. The Financial Analyst is a primary partner with our program managers for all financial aspects of programs. This role is pivotal in driving Estimate at Completion (EAC) development and business performance by delivering actionable insights and outcome-focused analysis to support programmatic decision-making. This position will produce budgets and forecast with a strong emphasis on leveraging data to provide clear, impactful recommendations. The position will manage EACs, complex financial models, developing basis of estimates with program managers, and presenting information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders to guide and influence outcomes.

As the Financial Analyst 2, DZMG, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Under the guidance of the Director, Finance & Controller, manage the development of Estimate at Completions (EACs) in collaboration with program managers.  Development financial planning process for programs, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling through active participation, communication and collaboration with program managers and plant operations management, supply chain, and legal.  Provide strategic financial guidance to support program business objectives.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and slide presentations, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management and stakeholders. Provide actionable insights based on financial data. 
  • Analyze and evaluate program costs, ensuring accurate allocation and application within the manufacturing process. Identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.  Drive process, reporting, and analytics improvements. Learn and leverage ERP and business intelligence tools in place to enhance automation of reporting and analysis, specifically usage of SAP Finance, PowerBI and SAP MRP.
  • Create and maintain analyses for fixed and variable assets, cost of capital, return on investment, and cash flow in support of capital allocation and investment decisions, budget and forecasting, and growth planning.
  • Support development of basis of estimates, bill of materials, and pricing in collaboration with program managers and supply chain for program related proposals.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Strong Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Planning and Analysis along with a strong operational understanding of business decision making. 
  • Ability to clearly and consistently get information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing via multiple methods (i.e., presentations to groups both large and small).  Demonstrates the ability to influence decisions and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SAP or another comprehensive ERP system for data extraction, financial reporting, and analysis.  Knowledge MRP concepts and their application in manufacturing operations, with specific knowledge of SAP MRP a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (including advanced functions, financial modeling, and data analysis) and PowerPoint (for creating high-quality presentations).  PowerBI experience is highly desired.
  • Possesses and demonstrates familiarity with GAAP, CAS, FAR, DFAR, and applicable government regulations. 

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis within a manufacturing environment, preferably in munitions or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience in dealing with financial and regulatory audits and reporting requirements.
  • Great attitude and team player. 
  • Successful completion of background screening process.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $75,120.00 - $112,680.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
