Position Description

Day & Zimmermann is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer, Projects Lead to oversee and deliver equipment-related projects ranging from minor modifications to full-scale production cell implementations.

 

This role is responsible for designing effective technical solutions and managing projects from concept through completion. The Engineer will work closely with process engineers, facilities engineers, and project managers to define and execute the appropriate scope of work, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with performance expectations. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, optimizing equipment performance, and supporting the long-term operational goals of the facility.

As the Engineer Projects Lead, here’s the work you’ll do:

• Responsible for executing new capital projects and ensuring assigned projects are being completed on time and on budget. These projects will range from equipment upgrades and machine/cell designs to large capital improvement projects

• Prepare scope of project, identification of equipment for sourcing, oversee installation and construction of new projects and prepare capital estimates to obtain project approval. Developing equipment specifications and commissioning plans, ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing. Develop processing parameters and operating instructions

• Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and be a champion for automation throughout the plant. Supporting safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives that keep both employees and the environment protected. Trouble shooting equipment and developing permanent solutions to address recurring issues

• Manage multiple projects in various phases. Manage professional services, contractor, and construction resources

• All other duties as assigned

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Excellent technical and engineering skills, written and verbal communication skills including leading group meetings/projects

• Ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload and be committed to continuous process improvement

• Self-starter; willingness to be hands-on with projects and drive them from imagination to implementation

• Desire to start-up new equipment/processes and train others to ensure process run properly

• Government Secret Clearance may be required

And if you have these qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering required 

• 8+ years of experience in production and project related experience with automated processes for discreet manufacturing

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $104,480 - $156,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
