Position Description

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Director of Engineering to join our Day & Zimmermann team.

 

Director of Engineering is responsible for the managing, formulation, administration and coordination of engineering projects, budgets, policies, processes, methods and procedures designed to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays and otherwise promote cost reductions on a company-wide basis. The Director of Engineering must be familiar with facilities maintenance and modernization management as well as the proposal writing process in the ammunition industry.

As the Director of Engineering, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Direct and manage the workload forecasting for engineering and project management to support manufacturing processes with engineering efforts
  • Facilities and modernization project management.  Establish budgets and schedules while maintaining strong communications and customer relationships
  • Manage and supervise defined personnel.  Schedule work assignments, evaluate and develop talent to meet and exceed expectations
  • Planning, defining, organizing, monitoring, measuring and controlling past, present and future engineering activities.  Must generate reporting structure for all projects/status/risks/
  • Ability to develop BOE (basis of estimates) and non-occurring engineering charges for new process development

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $135,280 - $202,920. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
