As the Director, Compliance here's the work you'll do:

Position Summary

The Director of Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role will lead compliance efforts across key departments, including Safety, Health & Environmental, Quality, ATF, and Configuration, to mitigate risk, enforce regulatory requirements, and uphold ethical standards within the organization.
As a strategic leader, the Director of Compliance will provide expert guidance on regulatory matters, develop policies and internal controls, and drive company-wide compliance initiatives to align with legal and industry standards. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders, external regulators, and auditors to ensure full compliance across all areas of the business.

 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program to address regulatory, legal, and operational risks while monitoring emerging regulatory changes and provide strategic guidance on adapting company practices accordingly. Investigate compliance violations and enforce company policies to maintain a high standard of ethical conduct.
  • Establish policies, procedures, internal controls, and training programs to promote a culture of compliance. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, ATF, and industry-specific regulations. Conduct regular training sessions to educate employees and leadership on compliance obligations and best practices.
  • Provide strategic advice on complex regulatory requirements and guide the company in responding to regulatory inquiries and audits. Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks by proactively implementing risk-based control measures.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for non-compliance issues and ensure resolution in a timely manner. Lead internal audits and assessments to evaluate adherence to policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee and provide leadership to Safety, Health & Environmental, Quality, ATF, and Configuration departments to align compliance strategies across the organization. Drive continuous improvement in compliance performance by identifying trends and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, legal counsel, and operational teams to integrate compliance practices into daily operations. Present compliance reports and risk assessments to Executive Leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Attention to Detail: Must be self-motivated and deadline-driven with a high level of accuracy.
  • Technology Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of legal software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s or Juris Doctorate preferred).
  • Length of Experience: 10+ years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, or risk management; and 5+ years of leadership experience, with a track record of managing compliance teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Certifications: Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or other relevant compliance certifications preferred.
  • Other: Expertise in regulatory frameworks related to OSHA, EPA, ATF, Quality Management, and industry-specific compliance; Strong understanding of internal auditing, risk assessment, and corporate governance; and In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, legal frameworks, and compliance best practices.


In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $127,680- $191,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
