As the Assistant Manager, Maintenance here's the work you'll do:
Development and execution of plans, methods and procedures to accomplish Plant and Production Maintenance activities. Manages functions and personnel, engaged in fabrication, installation, rearrangement and utilization and maintenance of Plant facilities including building, grounds, roads, utilities and equipment, particularly in the Pipefitting and Electrical areas. Evaluates employee performance and potential for job growth and recommends personnel actions such as selection, promotion, discharge or disciplinary action. Participates, in conjunction with managers, in labor relations activities such as grievance hearings, arbitration hearings and other union business. Displays and utilizes experience and judgment to plan, set, and accomplish goals. Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manages maintenance of plant building, utilities, grounds, and support equipment to assure optimal conditions for plant objectives in conjunction with the Senior Maintenance Manager. Assumes responsibilities of Senior Maintenance Manager while Senior Maintenance Manager is not on site.
• In conjunction with Senior Maintenance Manager, reviews work objectives and estimates man-hour and skill requirements to accomplish objectives while preparing and/or assisting other departments in Scopes of Work. Also establishes staffing requirements and maintains manpower forecasts.
• At direction of Senior Maintenance Manager, coordinates projects with other departments and organizational units including contractors. Arranges for and coordinates the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, tools, etc to maintain a sufficient supply of each for special and/or emergency conditions.
• Works with Manager to orient new employees relative to Company policy, rules, regulations, and procedures. Makes job assignments and instructs this employee group with respect to proper job performance. Evaluates employee performance and potential for job growth and investigates grievances, incidents, and prepares written report of findings.
• Prepares cost estimates and evaluates capabilities of in-house versus outside contractors and presents status reports on special projects and general maintenance activities for all Maintenance areas.
• Interprets work orders, specifications, and blueprints. Prepares and maintains records and reports of employee time, equipment performance, status of work in progress.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
• Extensive knowledge of and the ability to perform Maintenance Craft related skills (including lifting devices).
• Knowledge of cost estimating and work order control.
• Computer skills (including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to operate, maintain, construct and make repairs to facility, utilities, machinery and equipment.
And if you have these qualifications:
- High School Diploma required with Maintenance apprenticeship or technical school certification preferred.
- 5 years supervisory experience in Maintenance related activities.
- Lead Abatement certification; Asbestos Abatement Supervisory certification.
- Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driverâs license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant.
In compliance with this states pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $76,640 - $114,960. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
