Position Description
We’re looking for a full-time, staff BIM Manager to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in the Stanton, TN area.
The BIM Manager is responsible for assisting the Piping Department/Design Technology Manager with all design technology functions for production support with Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and other technical support as required for a multi-office, multi-discipline engineering company. This includes quality conformance, establishing and enforcing standards and best practices, training, technical software advising and administration, model management, and developing BIM/CAD support staff and groups within offices to promulgate and support the BIM/CAD production efforts.
As the BIM Manager, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Ability to manage department resources as they relate to projects, including but not limited to manpower, tools, project deliverables, and estimates.
- Provided assures that the technical quality of a department's work meets the required professional standards according to company, clients and national standards.
- Maximized utilization of personnel by planning and staffing work.
- Fostered development of talent and departmental training as well as supervision and performance appraisal, including salary administration capabilities.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
BIM/CAD Design Technology Application Management
- Guide the management, development, and enforcement of BIM/CAD design technology applications and standards with a strong emphasis on regional and/or client requirements, procedures, and standards.
- Design, Implement, Maintain and support engineering and architecture applications, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD along with Bentley BIM, and MicroStation.
- Create application deployments and keep current with application hotfixes, patches, and updates.
- Configure and support printing/plotting from BIM/CAD applications.
- Ability to provide model management, clash detection, best practice guides, and mentoring to project teams if needed.
- Research and identify industry best practices, tools, and direction related to production as required.
Design Technology/Information Technology Support
- Provided technical and how-to support to all engineering and architecture departments on BIM/CAD platforms.
- Train Design Technology and cross-train Information Technology (IT) team members on how to support BIM/CAD applications.
- Work with the IT team to determine other hardware and software needs to support BIM/CAD platforms and the needs of the engineering and architecture departments.
- Document Design Technology configurations, processes, and support activities.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field. Prior experience may be substituted for degree.
- 8 + years relevant progressively responsible roles.
- Experience in effective project execution and project procedures. Ability to supervise and lead technical resources and the completion of projects.
- Knowledge of engineering design software. Knowledge of the BIM production systems and processes among the two major BIM vendors, Autodesk and Bentley, and knowledge of computer networks and infrastructure, corporate and company security requirements.
- Skills in critical thinking, mentoring, solving complex problems and issues by gathering data and working within the organization to develop and execute the solution.
- Ability to develop, organize and execute training across all fields and disciplines as it relates to BIM/CIM.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to listen and ability to speak to large groups and to our clients when required.
- Microsoft and Autodesk Certifications a plus.
- US Citizenship.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $92,480 - $138,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
