Job Summary

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Sr. International Strategic Supply Chain Specialist, DZMG to join our Day & Zimmermann team. The Sr. International Strategic Supply Chain Specialist leads the negotiation, procurement, and administration of all international transactions, focusing on optimizing global supply chain operations and ensuring compliance with trade regulations. They develop funding documents, source goods and services, and implement cost-reduction strategies that maintain quality and align with overall business goals. The role also involves managing supplier relationships for large-scale munitions projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems and drive efficiency in a dynamic, global environment.

As the Sr. International Strategic Supply Chain Specialist, DZMG, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Manages full Sourcing lifecycle from preparation of the Recommended Bidder's List (RBL), issues RFQs (Request for Quote), receives and evaluates bids, prepares Competitive Bid Evaluation (CBE), conducts supplier negotiations, issues Purchase Orders/Subcontracts, administrates change orders and Purchase Order/Subcontract closeout, assists in the resolution of supplier invoice disputes, and manages delivery compliance. Successfully identifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers across different countries to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality. Ensures adherence to international trade laws, customs requirements, and sustainability standards and compliance.
  • Manages supplier relationships to include the development, engagement, problem resolution and communications for the business unit; Manages and engages suppliers for auditing purposes to ensure specification and quality requirements are met; Demonstrates timely communication of potential issues with Business Unit leadership/partners and Supply Chain Management to ensure and/or mitigate impact to scheduled dates/deliverables.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive sourcing strategies to streamline sourcing, production, and distribution worldwide including collaboration with business partners to ensure qualified suppliers are selected for RFP & RFQ processes.; Develops the sourcing strategies in conjunction with the business unit to support deadlines; Facilitates supplier meetings and visits client facilities as required.
  • Anticipates and mitigates risks related to global trade, such as political instability, tariffs, supply disruptions, and natural disasters.
  • Oversees international shipping, freight forwarding, and customs clearance to ensure timely and efficient product movement while utilizing digital tools (ERP, AI, blockchain, analytics) to improve visibility and traceability.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • FAR/DFAR, international sourcing, procurement and contract negotiations experience, ideally with European and OCONUS supplier networks.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, Incoterms, and customs regulations. Demonstrated experience to manage and mitigate global supply risks and crises.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills including demand forecasting and inventory optimization. Strong sourcing, negotiating, organizational, verbal & written communication skills to include decision-making, change management, conflict management, and strong analytical skills.
  • Driven, proactive, and highly collaborative professional with cross-cultural communication skills who thrives in a small, high-impact team and matrix organization. Exemplary interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and SAP/ERP systems.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field operations required.
  • 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience in international government contracting required.
  • FAR/DFAR experience required.
  • Must have US passport and ability to obtain security clearance as required.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional – APICS preferred.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) – ISM preferred.
  • Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport preferred.
  • Travel requirements: Must be able/experienced to travel internationally (50%).
  • Great attitude and team player. 
  • Successful completion of background and drug screening process.

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $86,160.00 - $129,240.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
