Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Develop and submit technical plans and procedures that address inspection and testing required by product specifications and drawings as well as comply with customer and internal guidelines. 30%
- Collect and analyze data for proactive defect prevention, investigate the cause of defective products to develop corrective and preventative actions as well as support product and process optimization. 20%
- As part of the Integrated Program Team, customer liaison for all quality issues. 15%
- Quality Management System support such as but not limited to Audits, Internal Training, Configuration Management, Material Review Board, Change Control and Material Review Board 15%
- Collaborate to support the development of key suppliers to assure that Day & Zimmermann receives quality products on time, every time cost effectively. 10%
- Participates in continual improvement projects to increase productivity and reduce or eliminate scrap and rework. 10%
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Strong technical writing skills, including proper use of grammar, sentence structure, spelling, capitalization, punctuation and formatting. Strong analytical, statistical and mathematical skills.
- Risk Management and the application of various quality tools to identify risks in terms of on-time delivery and quality and mitigate those risks.
- Proficient in the use of computers and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, and Project. Minitab and AutoCAD skills desired.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, capabilities, collaborate to develop process/product qualification, verification, and validation plans.
- Ability to work manage time effectively to complete multiple projects on time as well as have effective verbal and written communication skills.
- AS9001/ISO 9001 - Auditor Level Knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Required
- Preferred degrees include STEM curriculum preferably Industrial Technology, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Preferred
- 5+ years Required
- Defense manufacturing experience with munitions, metal fabrication preferred. Preferred
- Radiography experience desirable. Preferred

Compensation and Benefits
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $68,480 - $ 102,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
