Job Summary

Join Day & Zimmermann as a Tooling & Warehouse Support Specialist within our D&Z MC Supply Chain Division, based at the Pittsburgh Warehouse and Tooling department. This pivotal role is essential to the seamless operation of warehouse functions including managing inventory control, efficient loading and unloading of trailers, and strategic staging of tools and equipment for both on-site and internal use. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth dispatch and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to DZMC site locations, while upholding standards of safety, timeliness, and accuracy across every distribution effort. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative supply chain environment supporting diverse industrial and power plant settings, enhancing operational readiness and supporting field teams effectively.

The successful candidate becomes a vital contributor to the larger supply chain ecosystem, ensuring every tool and material is accounted for and ready where and when it is needed most.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate receipt, confirmation, and tracking of incoming materials, ensuring proper documentation and quality standards are met before storage or dispatch.
  • Execute daily warehousing operations including the loading and unloading of materials and tools using appropriate machinery such as forklifts and Bobcats, while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Maintain and improve accuracy of inventory data through diligent data entry and management using the company’s web-based tool tracking system.
  • Conduct regular audits of tool and equipment inventories across multiple DZMC site locations under supervision to ensure accountability and operational efficiency.
  • Manage scheduling and dispatching of delivery vehicles to guarantee timely, safe delivery of materials and equipment across Power Plant and other industrial facilities.
  • Support equipment upkeep and assist with office maintenance duties as needed to foster a safe and organized working environment.
  • Respond to and resolve warehousing and delivery issues proactively, liaising with site teams and suppliers to uphold high service levels.

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for effective reporting, communication, and data management.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory tracking and documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Physical capability to safely handle lifting and moving of loads up to 50 pounds and operate warehouse equipment proficiently.
  • A solid understanding of common construction tools and equipment, ensuring correct handling and maintenance procedures.
  • Good communication skills for effective interaction with supervisors, delivery personnel, and warehouse colleagues.
  • Problem-solving aptitude to address logistical challenges and recommend improvements in warehouse processes.

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $47,280.00 - $70,920.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in warehouse operations or similar roles.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and readiness to engage as an effective team player in a dynamic environment.
  • Successful completion of comprehensive background and drug screening processes to ensure workplace safety and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely while complying with company and industry safety standards.
