The Sr. Director, Corporate Development position is focused on acheiving the strategic growth efforts of Day & Zimmermann. The role advises the senior executive teams, working as an internal consultant to the business units, effectively acting as a Growth Champion and Strategic Thought Leader for the enterprise. This includes executing analytical projects that support CEO/LC objectives and advising on efforts to instill strategic growth mindset throughout the business. The role is also responsible for directing, developing and implementing the processes, tools, and analytics that optimize Day & Zimmermann's enterprise-wide, strategic planning and corporate development efforts, driving inorganic and organic growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s long-term treasury, strategic financing, and M&A planning to support growth initiatives, capital structure optimization, and acquisition activity. Lead the development and management of the M&A pipeline, partnering with investment banking, and industry contacts to source, evaluate, finance, and execute potential transactions. Advise internal business units on M&A strategy, deal evaluation, financial analysis, and due diligence activities. 40%
- Lead the Annual Strategic Planning Process for the enterprise with the SVP, Finance, Strategy, & Corp Dev, ensuring best practices in strategy development and are leveraged and refining corporate and business unit strategies to ensure they are positioned for successful execution. Perform and support efforts to conduct market research and business case analysis. Provide market, competitor and benchmarking input to the businesses. Facilitate BU strategy development/sessions, oversee quarterly strategic scorecard reporting against the annual plans. 20%
- Partner with Segment and Business Group leaders to identify and execute strategic growth, margin expansion, and competitive differentiation opportunities. Provide strategic and financial assessments to support investment decisions, challenge and refine growth strategies, and lead cross-functional initiatives that expand addressable markets and drive transformational growth. 20%
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and SVP of Finance, Strategy & Corporate Development to lead and execute high-impact special projects aligned with enterprise strategic priorities. 10%
- Support the SVP, Finance, Strategy & Corporate Development in long-range capital planning, including the development and execution of financing strategies that support the Company’s M&A and strategic growth initiatives. Assist in managing relationships with the D&Z credit facility bank group. 10%
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Deep understanding of Strategy development for a variety of industries, including knowledge of best practices and trends in business strategy though leadership. Demonstrated ability in facilitating strategy workshops and strategy devlopment processes.
- Deep understanding of the selling process & sales management practices. Demonstrated ability in setting strategy, driving performance, consistently producing superior results, cultivating entrepenuership and ownership while enforcing procurement guidelines and applicable law.
- Strong communicator with the ability to artfully influence, persuade and drive action.
- Proven ability to work effectively cross-functionally with senior levels in the organization.
- Experience with CRM tools required.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. Required

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $146,480 - $219,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
