Position Description

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Sr. Accountant, Financial Reporting to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Philadelphia, PA. To prepare various internal and external financial reports such as the periodic Consolidated Financial Reporting Package, the year-end audited Consolidated Financial Statements and Footnotes, and other ad hoc requests in an accurate and timely manner. This position contributes to the department’s objectives of supporting the business units and corporate office by providing useful and accurate information for internal analysis, job bidding opportunities and debt covenant compliance.

As the Sr. Accountant, Financial Reporting, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Responsible for preparation of the audited consolidated financial statements, audit reports, related footnotes and review reports for respective entities.  Research and provide variance explanations for year over year analytics and work with business unit finance teams when additional information is needed.
  • Responsible for the Company’s periodic reporting packages, quarterly debt covenant package, ad hoc treasury and cashflow analysis; as well as ensuring accuracy of system (SAP) reports by working with IT or proposing entries to resolve issues.
  • Perform GAAP research and prepare memos on technical accounting issues; assist with adoption of new accounting guidance as well as prepare journal entries and accounting memos for acquisitions.
  • Responsible for preparation of key financial data and metrics for CFO's corporate presentations.  Lead and support special projects and ad hoc reporting as well as providing support to other Corporate Finance and Treasury functions as needed.
  • Support the business units by performing the following: a) responding to financial statement requests; b) act as a contact for business unit controllers, assistant controllers, and other departments when questions arise regarding consolidated SAP reports; c) perform accounting research for one-off transactions.
  • Responsible for completing quarterly reconciliations of certain general ledger accounts.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Understanding of SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and related financial issues.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to present information clearly and concisely to senior leadership and external parties, in both written and oral formats.
  • Proven ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and follow-up on resolution of outstanding issues. Capable of handling sensitive/confidential information and documents.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years in public accounting or financial reporting environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant Preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and SAP or other ERP financial system.
  • Great attitude and team player. 
  • Successful completion of background screening process.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $88,880.00 - $133,320.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
