Job Summary
Accountable for delivering cutting-edge analytical and AI solutions to advance D&Z data science initiatives. This position demands expertise in both traditional machine learning and generative AI, developing predictive models and LLM-based applications to address business challenges. The Data Scientist will leverage diverse data sources to generate insightful analyses, build production-ready ML models, and deploy generative AI technologies such as RAG systems and AI agents. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role integrates AI/ML solutions into business workflows. Exceptional technical skills must be complemented by the ability to convey complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for building and deploying generative AI applications including LLMbased solutions, AI agents, and RAG chatbots using modern frameworks and vector database
- Responsible for building predictive models using machine learning techniques & algorithms
- Responsible for applying advanced statistical concepts to analyze data sets and optimize AI/ML model outputs
- Writing code for processing and cleansing the data used for AI/ML model training and fine-tuning
- Responsible for optimizing models via feature selection/engineering, and prompt optimization for generative AI application
- Present results clearly using easily understood terms and create demonstrations of AI solutions
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Machine Learning & Statistical Expertise – Proficiency in Python/R and ML frameworks (scikitlearn, XGBoost, PyTorch, TensorFlow); strong foundation in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, feature engineering, model optimization, and deployment of predictive models across regression, classification, clustering, and time series.
- Generative AI & Large Language Models – Hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini, open-source) including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, embeddings, and building applications using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with vector databases.
- Data Engineering & Processing – Strong SQL skills with expertise in data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and pipeline development for structured and unstructured data; experience deploying ML/AI workloads on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). MLOps & Technical Tools – Knowledge of model lifecycle management, workflow automation,
and reproducibility; experience with Git, version control, and CI/CD practices for ML/AI systems. - Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to design and validate experiments, apply quantitative methods, and translate data into scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Communication & Visualization – Skilled at creating dashboards, data visualizations, and technical presentations to convey complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Documentation – Experienced in gathering requirements, working in crossfunctional teams, and producing clear documentation, user guides, and technical reports.

Compensation and Benefits
In compliance with this states pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $101,840 - $165,490 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements
