Job Summary
We’re looking for a part-time Compensation Intern to join our Day & Zimmermann Human Resources team located in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate is someone who is looking for an ongoing opportunity (1 year or more) with the potential to transition to full-time employment. The Compensation Intern contributes to the success of the D&Z Corporate Compensation program through analytical and administrative support of key processes. This role will be an essential support for data analytics and report creation involving employee pay data management.
As the Compensation Intern, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Develops skills in data management within the SuccessFactors HRIS (human resources information system) by developing and formatting reports to be used by the Comp Team for analysis and auditing. Integrates data from multiple sources using Excel formulas to improve data integrity. Gains an understanding of compensation structures and philosophy at D&Z in order to support the team’s efficient management and maintenance of job data in SuccessFactors.
- Supports the annual compensation planning process by creating reports and auditing data for merit increases and bonuses.
- Participates in data clean-up projects that support the team and HR community’s usage of accurate job and position data.
- Provides administrative and analytical support in other projects as needed to support process improvement and effectiveness within the team and in interactions with the HR department, hiring managers, and other support groups (Finance, IT). Gain an understanding of the various business groups at Day & Zimmermann and their business objectives.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Confident in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong knowledge of creating reports and Excel formulas/shortcuts required.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple ongoing tasks, manage to deadlines, and explore potential solutions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Mindset of curiosity and interested in learning more about Human Resources, Compensation, and pay management and supportive in understanding the needs of the team/the groups they are partnered with.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a college or university pursuing a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Management Information Science, Finance or other business-related discipline
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.

Compensation and Benefits
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $16.00- $ 21.00 an hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
