We’re looking for a full-time, Test Area Technician!

The Test Area Technician performs a variety of duties in the building such as data collection and analysis and testing of medium caliber ammunition products.  Complies with all safety and explosive safety procedures and rules, operates to SOP's, MI's, and other work instructions.

As the Test Area Technician, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Complies with all safety and explosive safety procedures and rules. Works with test area crew in performance of daily activities. Operates to SOP's, MI's, and other work instructions per military specifications for specific items to be tested. Performs tasks incuding but not limited to handling medium caliber ammunition, testing small percussion primers, or special tests. Performs some assembly of materials/equipment. Transports and tests material.
  • Handles ammunition, assists in transport, setup, operation, and cleaning of test equipment. Verifies security of stored ammunition and test area perimeter. Operates pickup truck and medium size all terrain vehicle. Operates test area weapons, is responsible to ensure test instrumentation setup and operation is performed to the specification for specific item(s) being tested. Performs and supports tasks incuding but not limited to CE/CV build and test, primer acceptance testing, Engineering or special tests. Observes testing, performs and records test data. Performs dud recovery and assists in destruction of scrap materials.
  • Communicates with other departments as needed. Participates in problem solving efforts.
  • Performs routine maintenance of test instrumentation and equipment. Performs identification, packaging and handling of scrap materials.    

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Ability to effectively load, fire, and service test range weapons, perform test area duties as needed, including physically demanding work. Must be able to obtain training and certifications needed.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally to others on crew, support test operations using interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to understand a variety of technical instructions in narrative, mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to write emails, help write reports and procedure manuals.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in technical field preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally to others on crew, support test operations using interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to understand a variety of technical instructions in narrative, mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to write emails, help write reports and procedure manuals.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $47,040 - $70,560. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
