Job Summary

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Supply Chain Manager to join our American Ordnance team located onsite in Middletown, IA. The Supply Chain Manager leads and supports 'Best In Class' Supply Chain for Munitions' businesses. This position is responsible for the management, issuance and execution of purchase orders, subcontracts, supplier solicitations and review of purchase order/subcontract terms. The Supply Chain Manager collaborates with key internal stakeholders to ensure Customer requirements and schedules are met. This position supports key operational stakeholders to ensure SAP and Supply Chain processes are in compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages strategic sourcing and execution strategies for all materials, services and equipment required by contract to improve supply chain performance through process, innovation, and capability development in accordance with Government Contracting principles. Drives a culture focusing on process, compliance, metrics and tangible results. Contributes to the ongoing development of Supply Chain best practices across Munitions. Acts as a change agent to manage and influence change, drive customer focus, and accountability. 25%
  • Leads the proposal efforts including the development of the Supply Chain estimate, Program Procurement Plan and strategy, supplier solicitations, negotiations and quality verification to ensure the proposal deliverables meets customer expectations. Negotiate pricing, long-term agreements, and contract terms in compliance with FAR requirements. Perform cost/price analysis and manage procurement budgets. 20%
  • Manage purchasing in accordance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and company procurement policies. Ensure proper flow-down of government contract clauses to suppliers. Maintain documentation for DCMA/DCAA requirements and support related audits (CPSR). 20%
  • Provides guidance on disputes and risk management/mitigation including problem resolution, pre-qualification of suppliers and identification of potential risk exposures relating to price and schedule. 15%
  • Leads, guides, directs and mentors direct reports. Monitors overall team performance, conducts performance reviews, coaches and develops team members. 10%
  • Engages in timely communication with Supply Chain leadership and site management teams of potential issues to ensure and/or mitigate impact to scheduled dates/deliverables to drive positive business outcomes. 10%

  • Highly proficient in MS Office & SAP with the ability to train and develop staff in current and new technology.
  • Advanced negotiation skills with high level of expertise in Purchase Order/ Subcontract review, interpretation and writing.
  • Forward thinker with quick adaptability to change, possesses strong analytical skills to break paradigms and promote creativity within a matrixed organization. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build strong relationships. Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Supply Chain professional with developed business acumen and the proven ability to reduce supply chain costs and improve efficiencies through process improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to analyze data from various systems/sources to determine opportunity/root cause. Possesses a passion for process and problem solving with a natural desire to simplify processes and optimize efficiency.
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or equivalent business experience required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Government contracting experience in manufacturing, knowledge of metals and machining required
  • SAP or other ERP system experience required
  • Great attitude and team player. 
  • Successful completion of background and drug screening process.

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $107,200.00 - $160,800.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
