Keep Production on Track as a Material Planning Supervisor

As a Material Planning Supervisor, you’ll lead a team responsible for forecasting, scheduling, and inventory control to ensure the right materials are in the right place—on time and every time. You’ll use your expertise in MRP, SAP, and production operations to align materials with demand, support efficient production flow, and contribute to contract closures and cost savings.

What You Bring to the Team:
- You bring the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and general business communications effectively. You have solid writing skills, capable of crafting reports, correspondence, and procedural manuals, with the finesse to present complex information to diverse cohorts, ranging from leadership to clients.
- Your knowledge encompasses all facets of demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management and control, enabling you to strategically approach material management.
- You excel in practical problem solving, showcasing the ability to navigate various variables in unpredictable scenarios and interpret intricate instructions in different formats.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP MRP, you leverage technology to enhance productivity and accuracy in your role.
- Strong organizational skills empower you to prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring that challenges are addressed collaboratively and efficiently.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally meet the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate degree is preferred.
- You possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in Production Operations, Materials Planning, Procurement, or Inventory Control.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, MS Office, and MRP systems is essential.
- A valid driver's license is required to facilitate necessary site visits and operations.
- A great attitude and the inclination to be a supportive team player are essential traits we value.
- The successful candidate must complete a background screening process.
- Be prepared for possible Government Secret Clearance requirements.
- As part of our transparency efforts, the salary range for this role is established between $55,040 and $82,560, adjusted for individual experience, location, and sector regulations.
Your role as the Material Planning Supervisor:
As a Material Planning Supervisor, you will leverage your knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to determine the optimal material needs that align seamlessly with production schedules. Your position will also involve providing leadership, mentorship, and oversight for your team as they focus on inventory planning, lot forecasting, materials reconciliation, and managing daily inventory transactions.
- Conduct evaluations on the integrity of the MRP system, ensuring precise material requirements are communicated to align with production demands and timelines.
- Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to accurately forecast the production schedule and develop effective work orders that meet anticipated demand.
- Be the Point of Contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for material control within your assigned business unit, driving accountability and strategic discussions.
- Work in conjunction with program management and the disposal department to address contract closures efficiently, managing residual inventories and reallocating materials as appropriate.
- Guide your team of Expediters by clarifying responsibilities and delivering necessary training, while regularly assessing performance and providing constructive feedback for improvement.
