As the Specialist, Logistics here's the work you'll do:

Position Summary 

Responsible for scheduling inbound/outbound freight; coordinating shipments with business unit personnel; maintaining DOT certification for inspection of outbound shipments.

  • Classifies items into carload, truck and express terminology to describe shipments properly in order to secure lowest rate; routes outbound shipments, maintains records of shipments and carriers of equipment used; investigates claims; traces lost freight and expedites shipments with carriers.  Coordinates ordering of necessary equipment from carriers and expedites disposition of freight in order to avoid demurrage charges; arranges for pickup and delivery of LCL or LTL shipments.
  • Assists in the Traffic Section, including Clerical Staff,  preparation of Shipping Documents, Government Bills of Lading, Commercial Bills of Lading, and the distribution of Shipping documents and Bills of Lading.
  • Assists in devising, revising, and placing into effect work methods and procedures for receipt and shipment of freight.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of Government and Company procedures, policies and regulations relating to all phases of transportation activities, and familiarity with 49 CFR and other Transportation regulations.
  • Maintains familiarity with, observes and trains others (as necessary) in safety, health and environmental requirements, performing duties with initiative, independent judgment and discretion under general supervision, continuously improving processes and systems under their control to meet customer needs, both internally and externally.

  • Education Level: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Year of experience: 1-3 years 

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $47,040- $70,560. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

•    Expertise in: EXCEL, WORD, CADD (Revit/Bentley)
•    Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment.
•    Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company’s office or worksite.
•    Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
