As a Safety Engineer here's the work you'll do:

  • Organize, plan, promote, and implement all elements of the Safety and Health program. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, Army and company regulations. Also ensure that good explosive and industrial safety practices are being followed. Responsible for all aspects of safety programs including training, enforcement, and auditing. Regularly exercises initiative, discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties.
  • Facilitate all phases of the Health and Safety Program in order to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
  • Prepare and implement, under the direction of the Safety and Health Manager comprehensive health and safety procedures in accordance with federal and Governmental regulations with particular emphasis on explosive safety, health physics, industrial hygiene, and radiation protection.
  • Perform inspections of installation operations including mechanical, material transportation, explosive and operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review and analyze new processes that require comments from the Safety Department. Also review changes in Standard Operating Procedures, Drawings, Safety Proposals, and Suggestions along with any Equipment, New Construction, and Equipment Modifications.
  • Conduct accident investigations or industrial and explosive incidents with main objective being to determine the root causes(s). Determines corrective actions that will reduce or eliminate reoccurrences of safety incident.
  • Maintain updated regulations and standards related to safety and safe work practices (e.g. ANSI standards). Collects, analyzes and disseminates data concerning the accident experience of the installation.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Safety Regulations including OSHA.
  • Through knowledge of Industrial Occupational Safety.
  • Good knowledge of physics, mathematics, statistics, engineering design and mechanics, and industrial processes.
  • Strong communication skills - oral and written.
  • Strong computer skills.

And these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • 5 years of relevant Safety experience
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • CSP preferred.
  • Explosive Safety experience preferred.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.


In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $59,600 - $89,400 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
