As the Quality Manager here's the work you'll do:

  • Manage, under the direction and support from the Director, Quality or Manager, Quality 3, select quality functions for the facility. Functions managed may include Configuration Management & Technical Data, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering and Receiving Inspection/Surveillance. Manage quality efforts aimed at improving the relations between the customer and the Company.
  • Manage quality functions to ensure customer satisfaction, compliance, and cost competitiveness. Provides leadership to ensure culture of accountability and personal ownership for product and service quality, compliance, and waste elimination.
  • Maintain established methods that continuously improves the effectiveness of the Quality Management Systems, process controls, internal audit, supplier certification, and continual improvement processes to reduce cost, cycle time, and elimination of waste to improve quality, productivity, reliability, and process capability.
  • Manage Quality Management System (QMS) related functions, relays instruction regarding use of inspection methods and quality tools, (problem solving, FMEA, process mapping, root cause analysis, SPC, and inspection equipment use).
  • Oversee the failure management system including failure analysis, preventive and corrective action and integrates lean manufacturing projects into continual improvement efforts to meet the critical defects clause of the government contract.
  • Maintain a continuing liaison with customer personnel and regulatory agencies to ensure a positive understanding between the plant locations and their customers relative to quality and lean systems and
  • process capabilities.
  • Attract, retain, and develop employees. Evaluate team members for compliance with established goals, contributions in attaining goals, and overall performance.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Business/Financial Acumen - Understand business strategy and how to align and prioritize Quality processes and practices to support the organization's vision and goals.
  • Problem Solving - Strong analytical skills; able to work through necessary channels and use quality diagnostic tools, involving collaborative efforts among government and internal customers to accomplish outcomes in complex settings.
  • Project Management - Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams utilizing six sigma to accomplish significant savings through lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Leadership and Change Management - Strong ability to consult, partner and further change. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Translates customer needs into positive actions taken by Company.
  • People Management - Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop talent, establish goals and hold employees accountable.

And these qualifications:

  • College Degree Required. Degree in Engineering/Mathematics/Business Management preferred. Degree in other fields acceptable with specific experience/training in quality assurance, statistics, or process control.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality field and/or mechanical/industrial engineering. Experience in leadership and change agent responsibilities preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include ASQ Quality Engineer, ASQ Quality Auditor and/or Manager with experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • May require US Government Secret Clearance.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.


In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $104,080 - $156,120. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
