Job Description: 

Job Summary

Provides comprehensive oversight of Project Controls including planning and cost control activities. Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the project plan and communicates the reasons for variances and future plans to the management team. Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans related to Project Controls.

 

This position is based out of Kincardine/Tiverton with the option for a hybrid/remote setting.

Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation, execution, updating, and monitoring of Project Controls including planning and cost control activities.
  • Provides financial management of the projects, including budget creation, WBS development, work breakdown structures with budgets, tracking of invoicing milestones, review invoice charges and backup, forecast and monitor project cash flow.
  • Analyze variances in cost against the plans and communicate the reasons for variances and future plans to the management team.
  • Oversee weekly and monthly reports for the customer on the status of Project Controls activities; present reports and interface with operations management and the management team.
  • Responsible for auditing projects for compliance with corporate policies and the customer’s contract.

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Technical Diploma or Degree from a respectable institute or related experience in lieu of degree, Business or Finance.
  • 5-8+ years of related work experience.
  • Capable to quickly develop and/or apply Project Controls software and Project Controls policies and procedures.
  • Strong skills in scheduling, estimating, and cost controls.
  • Strong project management and project controls experience.
  • Competent to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients/customers.
  • Working knowledge of project controls related and integrated project management computer software applications, including Primavera P3 or P5/P6.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills.
