We’re looking for a full-time, staff Field Engineer III

to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Indian Head, Maryland.

 

Control all aspects of project engineering management on site for the D&Z project group or outage group, to limit exposure to issues regarding safety, specifications, drawings & design compliance, and assist project management in financial, cost and schedule control.  Support field supervision to keep field supervision in the field and out of the office, by performing & supplying quantity & schedule reporting, purchase requisitioning, Technical material receiving, Change  management, work package development, planning (when dedicated planners are not on site) and document control support.  Works independently with minimal supervision.  Lead, coach and mentor less experienced staff.

As the Electrical Engineer, here’s the work you’ll do:

 

•          Support field supervision and design engineering through management and dissemination of RFI, DCN and ECN information and through technical issue resolution in a timely manner.

•          Develop comprehensive work packages.

•          Interface with field operations on the development of Constructability plan, Engineering and Construction sequencing, estimate and schedule.  Supply construction quantity and schedule update to project controls.

•          Assist in material procurement and material receipt inspection

•          Review drawing packages.  Perform walk downs with field operations to confirm engineering design  before issuing information to the planning, field or subcontractor

•          Support design engineers during start-up of project and close out documentation generation, including as-builts, as well as financial and process reports.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

•          Understanding of Microsoft software

•          Ability to work independently, use problem-solving judgment and organize and prioritize work assignments

•          Ability to conduct oneself professionally and with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality where necessary

•          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)

•          Strong working knowledge of engineering requirements for EPC Projects. The ability to read and understand project scope specifications, drawings and other technical documents.

And if you have these qualifications:

•          High school diploma or GED required; some college or post secondary education preferred

•          Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

•          5+ years of applicable industry specific work or a Bachelors Degree in engineering,  plus 5 years minimal of field experience as a FE.

•          Computer proficiency certifications a plus or equivalent education

•          Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, 3D CAD tools including BIM management applications

•          Ability to read construction drawings; P&IDs, piping isometrics, electrical one-line diagrams, etc.

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $96,160 - $144,240. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
