As the Structural Graduate Engineer, here's the work you'll do:
- Work under supervision of more senior engineers to complete project tasks such as analysis and design calculations and drawing production. The position represents developing junior staff in training.
- Research, analyze, design, and evaluate structural components and systems (foundations, slabs, beams, columns, walls, etc.) to meet project requirements, applying knowledge of structural engineering principles.
- Determine loads on building structures including gravity, lateral loads and earth pressures.
- Develop Sections and Details related to engineering calculations performed.
- Support construction phase contract administration activities such as Submittals, RFl's, construction support, etc.
- Prepares construction specifications for site and building structures.

- Ability to gain an understanding of the profession and develop abilities to complete tasks successfully with progressively less guidance. Grow responsibilities to include design coordination and constructability as well as gaining introduction to project costs. Participate in coordination of work with other disciplines. Encouraged to learn about department project responsibilities as part of career progression.
- Motivated to gain a mastery over production processes, design and calculations tools; Proficiency with calculation and software tools used in department and the ability to recognize the validity of results. Develop a working knowledge of drawing production software (CADD, BIM, Revit).
- Ability to develop competency designing structural elements, full site and building structural system layout/design as exposed to on a project by project basis.
- Understand contract administration project phase and competent supporting CA efforts for assigned projects as well as additional CA efforts supporting other engineers.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 0-4 or more relevant years of experience.
- EIT required within 12-months of hire; ability to obtain PE or SE
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $60,800 - $91,200. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
