We're looking for an experienced, Principal IC Technologist, to join our Mason & Hanger team!

The Principal IC Technologist role is an individual frontline technical leader for the department with an outward, heavy client and industry focus. Leadership responsibilities include guiding development of staff and innovation to ensure department, company, and client success. Leverages professional relationships and actively participates in marketing, capability presentations, and thought leadership. Independent worker who collaborates with other technical discipline leaders, Business Development staff, and Market Leaders to align department with goals of each market. Leads staff on the most complex, high-stakes projects, serving as the primary client-facing representative. Supports department leadership as needed.

As the Principal IC Technologist, here’s the work you’ll do:

• Lead production, overseeing the design and execution of the firms most significant and complex projects for the department. Direct design, drawing production, and specification and narrative development. Lead construction phase contract administration for the department..
• Drive innovation and development in existing and new systems. Support updating and maintenance of standards for the overall department.
• Mentor technical leaders in the department to support innovation, and improve client service. Train staff in development of skills to fill gaps in department capabilities. Consistently strive to elevate capabilities and direction to top level service and project outcomes. Assist Director / Associate Directors with departmental issues and operations; Provide insight into staff capabilities, training needs, and skills gaps.
• Serve as primary client-facing representative for the department including meetings, calls, and managing reviews and responses. Help to win new work by assisting business development, leveraging strong professional network, creating positive client relationships, and developing new services. Write and edit technical articles, journals, publications, and participate in capabilities presentations.
• Perform Independent Technical Reviews and other tasks as required.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Extensive knowledge an understanding of IC Technologist principles, codes, industry standards and client specific requirements. Strong command of design process, tools, procedures, calculations, and site and building IC Technologist systems used throughout the department. Skilled in developing and coordinating training within the department. Innovative and able to develop and implement solutions to technical, quality, and process problems throughout department. Partners with others to identify problems, generate solutions and implement improvements.
• Skilled in critical thinking, solving complex problems, and using good judgment in decision making
• Ability to create and present ideas, internally and externally, in the form of drawings, sketches, and other exhibits. Ability to coordinate and communicate with architects and engineers both internally and externally.
• Must have a passion for building trusted relationships with external clients, market and business development leaders, and other technical staff. Expected to be a proactive learner, mentor, and innovator to grow technical capabilities. Maintains professional humility and respect in partnership with all team members in pursuit of overall project success. Is expected to know their own technical limitations and proactively seek out support where needed while maintaining role of department technical leader in focus area. Ability to align efforts with other leaders. Ability to work with other discipline technical leaders in coordination of companywide training and standards.

• BS degree in Science required, Master’s Degree preferred
• 10+ years experience
• RCDD Certification required
• CTS-D Certification Required

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $124,080 - $186,120. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
