We're looking for an experienced Supervisor, Field.

 

The Field Supervisor is responsible for the overall security management and operational oversight of assigned Guard Operations shifts at Hawthorne Army Depot. This position supervises hourly union security employees, assigns posts and schedules, manages shift performance and corrective action, and exercises independent judgment when directing security operations, incident response, and emergency coordination.

Position may require security clearance, consistent with contract requirements and government approval.  U.S. or Naturalized citizenship is required.

This position is located on site in Hawthorne, NV.

 

As the Supervisor, Field, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Supervise assigned Security Operations employee as applicalbe, including Guard II, Alarm Monitor, and Arms Room personnel assigned to the shift. Direct daily work, assign posts, monitor performance, coach employees, and ensure shift execution supports secure, compliant, and continuous Depot operations.
  • Manage shift security operations in accordance with standard operating procedures, Company policies, the collective bargaining agreement, and applicable security requirements. Exercise independent judgment in assigning resources, resolving coverage issues, escalating risk, and determining the appropriate operational response to shift conditions.
  • Exercise supervisory authority over hourly union employees by reviewing and approving tier increases that may result in salary adjustments, addressing performance concerns, determining appropriate corrective action, and initiating or administering disciplinary actions when necessary. Provide documented input and recommendations related to employee status, performance, and continued qualification
  • Lead response to security incidents and emergency situations, including alarms, firearms-at-post issues, investigations, trespassers, domestic disturbances, hostile intruders, and other security events. Serve as Incident Commander when required, coordinate Guard force response with responding departments, and ensure timely completion and review of incident documentation
  • Review shift reports, maintain operational documentation, conduct hands-on training and drills, and support updates to work methods, SOPs, and shift practices. Reinforce safety expectations, ethical conduct, confidentiality, and Company standards for professional security operations.

 

This role is for you if you have these skills:

 

  • Security operations management capability sufficient to direct assigned shifts, allocate personnel, manage posts, and maintain continuous Guard force coverage.
  • Supervisory judgment and employee-relations capability sufficient to address performance concerns, determine corrective action, initiate or administer discipline, and make recommendations affecting employee status.
  • Scheduling and labor-agreement application capability sufficient to assign posts, manage overtime, review tier increases, and support compliant shift staffing.
  • Incident command and emergency-response capability sufficient to assess security events, make timely decisions, coordinate responding personnel, and document outcomes.
  • Training and coaching capability sufficient to conduct drills, reinforce procedures, evaluate readiness, and support employee qualification requirements
  • Communication, documentation, and discretion sufficient to issue clear instructions, review reports, protect confidential information, and interact professionally with employees, leadership, and government stakeholders

 

 

And if you have these qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of security, law enforcement, military, or related protective services experience, including 1+ year of supervisory, lead, or work-direction experience for security or emergency-response personnel
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications required by the Company’s Master Training Plan.
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to obtain and maintain PILB certification prior to employment, appropriate government security clearance, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives clearance, favorable NCIC III vetting, and an Armed PILB License after employment as required.
  • Must qualify with required weapons in accordance with PILB and locally established standards. Must perform work safely, remain alert to potential work and safety hazards, and exercise discretion when performing safety-sensitive supervisory duties.

 

 

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $55,040- $82,560. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

  • Repetitive motions of any part of the body for computer, documentation, and equipment-related work.
  • Talking to communicate instructions, training content, security procedures, and incident information.
  • Kneeling, crouching, or crawling when required for inspections, training, or emergency response.
  • Annual physical agility testing in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus over long periods of time.
  • Ability to read complex documents in English.
  • Ability to write complex documents in English.
  • Capacity to express thoughts orally and accurately convey instructions or information.
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
  • Expertise in specific software required, including Microsoft Office Suite and applicable security/training systems.
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions such as heat, cold, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, or extreme noise when required.
  • Ability to wear a mask, respirator, vest, or other required equipment when required by assignment or worksite conditions.
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company office or work site.
