We're looking for an experienced Specialist, Training and Development.
The Specialist, Training and Development develops and facilitates customized professional, technical, safety, and functional training programs for the Hawthorne Army Depot. This job maintains training plans, supports subject matter experts and managers, evaluates training effectiveness, and recommends updates to meet business, safety, and compliance needs.
Position may require security clearance, consistent with contract requirements and government approval. U.S. or Naturalized citizenship is required.
This position is located on site in Hawthorne, NV.
As the Specialist, Training and Development, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Maintain training programs, training timelines, and position-specific training plans for Hawthorne Army Depot personnel. Update plans and learning frameworks as needed in partnership with functional subject matter experts to ensure training deliverables are met.
- Identify training gaps and recommend processes, programs, or actions to address business needs. Design curriculum and learning frameworks for instructor-led, web-based, computer-based, and other delivery methods that support effective learning outcomes.
- Facilitate required training activities and coordinate the execution of training and development programs, including new-hire onboarding, targeted technical training, and competency-based development. Prepare scopes of service, desired results, and supporting materials for training initiatives
- Monitor learner feedback, training trends, and learning outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness. Use findings to improve training programs, provide feedback to management, and coach subject matter experts, facilitators, learners, and managers
- Maintain assigned Materials Handling Equipment training programs for designated mobile equipment and vehicles, including forklifts, bobcats, and aerial lifts. Lead or support fall protection, confined space, and other safety-related training to reinforce safe operating procedures and compliance requirements.

And if you have these qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience in training, learning and development, education, human resources, safety, operations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of training and development experience, including experience developing and implementing formal or informal learning strategies, training programs, and learning projects
- Must satisfactorily complete the Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations required by AR 350-4. IVES Instructor, OSHA Authorized Instructor, and Flagger Instructor certifications are required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required DoD security clearance and perform job duties safely and professionally in accordance with Company policies and procedures
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $67,200- $100,800. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
