Your role as a TEMP Armed Security Guard:
- Performs access control tasks at perimeter and internal access points that include vehicle searches and access badge inspections. Routine patrol of installation to inspect and assure production and storage areas are secure to include locking and unlocking of gates.
- Completes all required documentation for assigned duties and tasks. Documents may include: search registers, igloo checksheets, repository checks, vehicle check-sheets, and explosive building signature sheets.
- Performs surveillance and counter surveillance in order to maintain a secure workplace. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and threats.
- Performs investigations, escorts, stand-bys, vehicle traffic enforcement, to include detainment powers.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Participate and pass an annual Company Physical, Physical Ability Test (1.5 mile run in 17:30 minutes and 19 push-ups in 2:00 minutes per Army Regulation AR190-56) on an annual basis, and successfully meet Individual Reliability Program (IRP) requirements.
- Pass a bi-annual weapons qualification with pistol and rifle. Knowledgeable and uses other equipment and materials properly.
- Sharp observational and monitoring abilities. Proven ability to quickly identify the best course of action in any situation. Remain calm and respond swiftly to possible hazards while maintaining a professional standard.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures with the ability to follow complex instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow complex instructions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 6 months security-related experience and/or training in the last 5 years preferred.
- Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant.
- A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.
- Successful completion of a background screening process is mandated for all candidates.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Starting salary for a new hire is paid at an hourly rate of 95% of the prime hourly rate; This rate equals $26.61/HR. Upon completion of the 90-day probationary period, salary is increased to the prime rate of $28.01/HR. Additional shift differential pay of $0.70/HR is added for all hours worked outside 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
