Job Summary

We’re looking for a full-time Civil Engineering Summer Intern to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Greenville, SC. Student intern position to assist Civil Department by incorporating markup up drawings into CAD/BIM platforms, assist in computer aided site modeling, providing assistance with engineering calculations and any other supporting tasks to support engineers and designers.

As the Civil Engineering Summer Intern, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Perform design calculations under supervision of engineers.
  • Incorporate marked up drawings into CAD/Civil3D/OpenSite Designer platforms.
  • Assist in cost estimate preparation.
  • Assist in assembly of project submittals.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering (CE) program.
  • Has completed 2 years of study in CE Program.
  • Eligibility Requirement: Due to the nature of the work and applicable federal contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
  • Great attitude and team player. 
  • Successful completion of background and drug screening process.

Essential Functions

  • Expertise in: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CAD/BIM.
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company’s office or worksite.  
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.).  

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary for this role is $35/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
