As the Senior Structural Engineer, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Independent front line leader responsible for providing critical involvement to support department, company and client success. Has command of and accountability for department’s project success on campus scale and/or most complex projects
- Lead and direct others in design and production of project documents to include Drawings (CAD /BIM), Specifications (editing and checking) and support documents (basis of design)
- Check work delegated to other engineers and designers on project to ensure scope is documented successfully
- Lead construction phase contract administration activities for structural department on project such as Submittals, RFIs, construction support, etc.
- Main point of contact to clients for structural department project responsibilities: meetings, conference calls, comment review/responses, etc.
- Mentor and train other engineers and designers in the department - primarily with on-the-job training & development Ensures positive client relationships and client service with focus on winning new work. Supporting business development activities (pursuit opportunities, fee proposals, change modifications

Ability to gain and maintain perspective beyond the technical silo of project structural engineering. Developed solutions in anticipation of challenges and leverages perspective to ensure project team is appropriately focused.
- Acted as client facing responsible representative of structural department. Actively participated in business development to include project pursuit opportunities, assisted in developing fee proposals and contract change modifications. Provide critical involvement to ensure client success can be achieved. Success requires projects to be: delivered on time, within budget, well-coordinated and constructible
- Functioned as senior technical project leader for department providing training and mentoring to more junior staff within a team. Have command of design process, tools, procedures, calculations, and systems used throughout the department. Helped ensure the department is operating efficiently and well-coordinated with other departments and project managers as well as with clients and consultants. Ability to create and present ideas, internally and externally, in form of drawings, sketches, and other exhibits. Ability to coordinate and communicate with architects and engineers both internally and externally
- Acted as responsible Engineer of Record accountable for technical sufficiency of structural department projects
- Ability to perform, or guide others, in complex engineering calculations deliverables
And if you have these qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 12+ years of experience
- Professional or Structural Engineering License
- Great attitude and team player
- Successful completion of drug and background screening process
- US Citizen
- Ability to obtain security clearance
