We’re looking for a full-time, staff Project Electrical Engineer, to join our Mason & Hanger team

Located in one of the following office locations: Glen Allen, VA or Lexington, KY, Virginia Beach, V, Huntsville, AL, or Chantilly, VA | Hybrid.

As the Project Electrical Engineer, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Function as the lead engineer (Discipline Lead) on small to medium scale projects and/or completely engineer complex systems on large/campus scale projects. Will regularly function as the Responsible Engineer Of Record accountable for the technical sufficiency of some or all electrical department project deliverables – limits of responsibility to be determined in concert with more senior department leadership.
  • Work with other engineers, disciplines and project managers to ensure quality, and to verify successful execution of the project; responsible as client facing representative of electrical department and begins to participate in business development activities; actively supports project manager and department leadership with design scope modifications for assigned projects. Actively manage project cost throughout the design. Ensure design constructability and coordination with other disciplines necessary for a successful construction project. Ensure all electrical CA responsibilities for project are handled successfully.
  • Perform ITRs, travel for meetings and site investigations, cost estimates, and other tasks as required.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Directed others in all aspects electrical design and the preparation of all types of engineering and construction documents including lighting, power, and telecommunications; thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), ASHRAE 90.1 and other energy codes.
  • Ability to create and/or direct others to create edit and check project documents to include plans and BIM models, specifications, and support documents (basis of design); Check work delegated to other engineers and designers on project to ensure scope is documented successfully; engineering calculations spreadsheets and SKM Power*Tools to model and perform fault calculations; design systems and complete equipment selection; serves as Discipline Lead.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; Degree must be ABET accredited, or acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) preferred, LEED AP preferred
  • Professional License in Electrical Engineering required
  • Great attitude and team player
  • Successful completion of drug and background screening process
  • US citizenship required; ability to obtain a security clearance
  • EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, SureTrack

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $84,080 - $126,120. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
