We’re looking for a full-time, staff Department Director, Life Safety & Fire Protection

  • Responsible for the performance management of department, including managing, developing, and hiring staff, approval of Staff time, and day to day departmental Human Resource support activities.  Responsible for mentoring and training of departmental staff.
  • Ensures proper resource allocation within the department to produce projects on schedule, including assignment of resources and staff to meet utilization targets and profitability.
  • Assists Market Directors developing fee proposals and hours and providing marketing assistance for prospective projects
  • Serves as a technical resource and responsible for ensuring overall quality and accuracy on projects including performing quality reviews and ITRs.
  • Establishes, tracks, and approves department costs including budget, expense reports, overtime, etc.
  • Assists with continuous improvement and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures to achieve organizational goals.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices applied to the preparation of drawings, specifications, and related contract documents.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client services. This includes proposal preparation, client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates, direct reports, clients, and vendors.

  • BS in Engineering
  • 10+ years after professional License
  • LEED AP BD&C preferred
  • Professional Engineer
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance required.  Prior leadership experience and/or MBA preferred.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of drug and background screening process.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $163,680.00 - $ 245,520.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
