Position Description

Our work supports some of the most critical government missions in the nation. We design and deliver solutions where precision, integrity, and purpose truly matter. We are seeking an Associate Director, Electrical Engineering to help lead that mission and shape the future of our engineering practice. In this senior leadership role, you will provide strategic direction for complex electrical engineering programs supporting government and national security clients. You will inspire and mentor high performing teams, strengthen trusted client relationships, and ensure technical excellence across multiple office locations and remote teams. While responsibilities aligned with a licensed Professional Engineer are part of the role, the primary focus is leadership, vision, and impact. You will guide technical standards, drive innovation, and contribute to business operations including resource planning, compensation strategy, and organizational growth. This is a high visibility opportunity to influence meaningful work, develop exceptional talent, and deliver engineering solutions that truly matter.

As the Associate Director, Electrical Engineering, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Perform technical design and provide guidance on specifications, reports, and production drawings and models

  • Review designs and production drawings and models for assigned projects and conduct Independent Technical Reviews as needed

  • Partner with project managers and clients to support strong relationships, client satisfaction, and successful project delivery, including input on project strategy, proposals, and stakeholder communications

  • Mentor, train, and coach engineers and designers to support technical excellence and develop team managers in leadership and management practices

  • Assign and monitor workloads to ensure alignment with department and company priorities, staff capacity, and project needs

  • Review and approve timesheets, conduct performance evaluations, support hiring and promotion decisions, and manage compensation planning to drive team development and retention

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Proven knowledge of electrical engineering analysis and design across a variety of electrical systems

  • Proven ability to mentor, train, and coach others

  • Knowledge of business development processes, including supporting and completing RFP responses

  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with market leaders, project managers, and engineering disciplines, both internally and externally

  • Ability to develop and present ideas to clients through drawings, renderings, and other presentation materials

  • Proven leadership ability to effectively delegate work, direct project execution, and hold teams accountable for performance

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university, or a closely related discipline, required

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, preferred

  • Twelve or more years of experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or management role

  • Professional Engineer license required

In compliance with applicable state pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $154,160 to $231,240. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, as final offer amounts may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to employees may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.

We care about our employees, and it shows. Our team members receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage; life, AD and D, and disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and paid time off. Additional benefits include one hundred percent paid maternity leave for up to twelve weeks, parental leave, family leave, and a variety of voluntary benefits and discount programs designed to meet individual needs, including pet insurance.

To ensure a safe work environment while meeting the physical demands of the job, you must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks, with or without a reasonable accommodation:
