We have an exciting opportunity to join our SOC team as a General Manager!

As the General Manager of Hawthorne, here is the work you will do:

The General Manager has absolute functional and profit and loss responsibility for the management, operation and maintenance of the Hawthorne Army Depot in Hawthorne NV.  Directs the performance of the work force through subordinate executives and managers by delegation of authority, policy approval, interpretation of directives, planning, and evaluation.  Ensure compliance with all federal, military, state and local guidelines pertaining to SOC and the operations at the Hawthorne Army Depot.  Work requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment.  Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. Maintain high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; treat all individuals fairly and with respect

 

This role is for you if you have experience with these job responsibilities:

  • Carries absolute functional and profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for all aspects of the Hawthorne Army Depot in Hawthorne NV.
  • Responsible for the general management of Hawthorne Army Depot Government Owned Contractor Operations (GOCO) operations in accordance with the contractual requirements outlined by the U.S. Army.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient management of all resources owned by or provided to the Hawthorne Army Depot in the operations of its contracts.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient execution of directives received from SOC management or the parent corporation, Day & Zimmerman. Responsible for strategic and tactical planning.
  • Responsible for the implementation and operation of the Defense Industry Initiative (DII) Program.
  • Responsible for reporting potential real environmental safety concerns to the SOC management

As well as these skills:

  • Knowledge of fixed-price and cost-reimbursable government contracts.
  • Knowledge of munitions logistics operations, demilitarization and GOCO operations.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing; negotiation skills.
  • Ability to delegate, train, teach, and hire and have interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic and tactical planning, finances, and program management

 

And these qualifications:

  • B.S. /B.A. in Management or a Technical field.
  • 10-15 years experience in top management positions of increasing responsibility within a diverse organization.  Background in fixed-price and cost-reimbursable government contract management, munitions logistics/GOCO operations for the Government preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC's Master Training Plan.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the apropriate level of security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Must be able to perform work duties, routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all time, and especially alert while performing safety sensitive duties

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $156,080 - $234,120. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
