Join Day & Zimmermann as an Electrical Engineer 4 with our MC Engineering Operations Services division in Greenville, SC. As an Electrical Engineer 4, you will play an important role in shaping project success by developing engineering design criteria and specifications for assigned contracts. You will prepare quotation requests and purchase orders for equipment and materials, support field assignments, and conduct factory inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
This position also offers the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities, including developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans. You may also guide assigned team members and lead discipline-specific administrative and supervisory activities.

As an Electrical Engineer 4, here is the work you'll do:
- Provide expert technical guidance and oversight for electrical engineering components within assigned projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Develop and monitor project scopes for your discipline, promptly identifying scope changes and evaluating their impacts to maintain project integrity.
- Coordinate design efforts across multiple disciplines and liaise closely with client personnel to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
- Review design work and documentation to confirm accuracy, compliance with relevant codes and standards, logical structure, and constructability.
- Stamp project documents as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) when responsible for the work, ensuring accountability and compliance with professional standards.
- Lead and supervise project teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
- Utilize industry-standard engineering software tools such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Recap, and power system analysis programs like SKM and ETAP for electrical power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash assessments.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- Proven experience in effective project execution and familiarity with project management procedures.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience supervising project teams and coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent organizational skills and communication abilities, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear exchange of information with diverse stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial design practices for medium and low voltage electrical distribution encompassing lighting, grounding, lightning protection, power distribution, heat tracing, and electrical area classification.
- Thorough understanding and practical application of industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA).
- Familiarity with power system studies requirements and software tools essential for safe and compliant electrical system design.
- Proficiency in Autodesk design tools to create, review, and coordinate electrical engineering drawings and models.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred.
- Eligibility and acceptance by the State Board of Engineers for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is mandatory; holding an active PE license is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience in relevant electrical engineering roles.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $114,960 - $172,440. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
