We're looking for an experienced Director of Plans and Training.
The Director of Plans and Training is responsible for maintaining high standards of competency, personnel certifications, and training of personnel in accordance with DOE Orders, company training plan, and contract requirements, to include maintaining DOE NTC TAP certification. The Director of Plans and Training ensures that all training program development, presentation, records, and administration is accomplished and/or maintained in accordance with all contract requirements, including annual certifications, quarterly proficiency training, and semi-annual weapons qualifications. The Director of Plans and Training conducts Limited Scope Performance Testing to include Force-on-Force exercises. The Director of Plans and Training develops and oversees the training program, the Physical Fitness Program plan, continuous training on job analysis tasks (JA) / mission essential tasks (METL), and provides supervisory professional development classes to maintain a trained and professional Protective Force.
Position will require security clearance, consistent with contract requirements and government approval. U.S. or Naturalized citizenship is required.
This position is contingent upon contract award, and will be located on site in Washington DC area.
As the Director of Plans and Training, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Maintain an effective NTC approved training and qualification program to conduct Intermediate Force Training, and Basic Security Police Officer Training (BSPOT) to ensure the protective force are fully capable to tactically respond and resolve safeguards, security and emergency events.
- Maintain and develop lesson plans and instructional guidelines for all training, develop training schedules, and oversee documentation/records.
- Plan and conduct safe and effective intermediate force training and leadership training. Program, utilize, and maintain Engagement Simulation Systems (ESS) to conduct realistic training and exercises
- Oversee requisite training classes to qualify new officer candidates at the SPO I level in accordance with the requirements of DOE Order 473.3, applicable directives and regulations and 10 CFR 1046 to maintain staffing levels sufficient to meet the requirements identified within the PWS.
- Evaluate assigned personnel to ensure that all positions/labor categories are filled with qualified, certified, cleared, and licensed personnel.

And if you have these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Ten (10) years of commercial or Government experience including at least the last eight (8) years in verifiable law enforcement, military or security related roles.
- Experience in providing advice and assistance to management in the areas of protective force training for a security force of over 200 personnel, plans and procedure development, security risk assessments, statistical analysis and reporting.
- Experience in overseeing and developing training programs and conducting Limited Scope Performance Testing to include Force-on-Force exercises.
- Current DOE NTC Training Instructor
- Current DOE Q access authorization or;
- Meet eligibility requirements that support obtaining a DOE Q access authorization, including either:
- A current DOE Q access authorization or equivalent current clearance, such as a Top Secret clearance; or
- Eligibility for granting or reinstatement of DOE Q access authorization. This generally requires that the individual has been the subject of a federal background investigation that meets the scope and extent of a Single Scope Background Investigation and was conducted or updated by reinvestigation within the most recent five years.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $175,000- $225,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
