Job Summary

The Director of Compliance provides leadership for all regulatory, quality-management, and occupational safety programs across the program at the Hawthorne Army Depot in Hawthorne, Nevada.  Acting as the strategic architect of an integrated Compliance, Quality, and Safety Management System (CQS-MS), the Director ensures the program meets or exceeds applicable federal, state, and industry requirements while embedding a culture of integrity, continuous improvement, and zero harm. This position will be based onsite in Hawthorne, NV. 

Responsibilities

  • Own the Compliance Program: risk assessments, annual plan, policy development, training & investigations. Monitor and interpret laws/regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001/45001, contract requirements) and communicate impacts. Serve as primary liaison to regulators and internal & external auditors; lead regulatory reporting and responses. 
  • Oversee Quality Management System (QMS) including document control, internal/external audits, corrective & preventive actions (CAPA), supplier quality, and customer satisfaction metrics. Lead ISO certifications and any sector-specific quality standards. 
  • Direct the Occupational Safety & Health program: hazard recognition, industrial hygiene, incident/near-miss investigations, corrective action tracking, emergency response. Ensure compliance with safety plans; track TRIR/DART and drive initiatives toward zero injuries. 
  • Develop and maintain leading/lagging KPI dashboards for compliance, quality, and safety; analyze trends and recommend actions. Benchmark best practices; sponsor cross-functional projects that integrate compliance, quality, and safety objectives. 

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Deep knowledge of OSHA & ISO 9001/4500, root‑cause methodologies (8D, TapRooT®)
  • Expertise of risk assessment (FMEA, Bow‑Tie).
  • Expertise of data analytics/reporting tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) B.S. /B.A. in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Management or related field or equivalent combination of Education and Experience. Required
  • Technical training in Quality Control, Quality Assurance or similar. Preferred
  • 5+ years experience in Safety Management with executive management experience preferred or five(5) years experience in Quality Control/Assurance. Required
  • Government contracting experience strongly preferred. 

 

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $116,880 -  $175,320This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
